There are many forms of homelessness such as sofa-surfing, living in a hostel or rough-sleeping. If you don’t have a fixed address or don’t have access to facilities to provide for personal self-care we are here to help.
If you are homeless and are over 18, register for support at ‘Hand Up’ our Homeless Centre at Oasis House in Central Northampton. We are currently open for extended hours and have a winter shelter for the street homeless.
Hand Up is open to people over 18, Monday to Sunday. We provide free breakfast, drinks, a hot meal for lunch, and a soup in the evening.

Once you register with us for support, we can help with emergency crisis needs such as sleeping bags, warm clothing and coats. We can also wash clothing, provide access to showers and can start the process of getting you back on your feet.
Once registered with us, we have a specialist team daily to listen and understand what you need to re-settle. We can help provide access to bank accounts, housing advice and referrals, benefits advice, settled status support, and mental health and addiction support. We also offer a range of groups tailored to support you.
We are open every bank holiday, including Christmas day. We always make a special effort at Christmas, if you are homeless or sofa surfing you are able to register with us for a Christmas dinner.
A team of volunteers welcome the homeless community to Oasis House to be served a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. It is always a wonderful day. If you are interested in volunteering opportunities, please contact us.
