Open Event & Art Exhibition

Find out how we support people during winter.

You are invited to an open event about the Hope Centre, hosted by the Holy Sepulchre Church on the 28th November 2024, from 10am to 12.30. The church will be showcasing the artwork of Sally Sheinman and our Art Group. Experience what it feels like to be homeless on a wet and cold night on the streets of Northampton through a virtual reality experience, and talk to staff and volunteers about the critical work we do during the winter months.

Information on Homelessness

Chat to members of our front-line team and to lived experienced volunteers to understand what the dangers are for rough-sleepers during the winter months and what we do to help. Meet some of our team about the partnership work we do to help people in the local community.

Sally Sheinman Exhibition: ‘What Makes You, You?’

Stories on Cardboard

Come and contemplate the work of Sally Sheinman; 52 pieces of artwork will be on sale at the event, each artwork inspired by the personal experiences of our service users and staff. The pieces are not just visually compelling; they are deeply meaningful, each serving as a window into the lives of those who have shared their journeys.

Our art group, inspired by Sally’s work will also be displaying work they have produced over the last 6 months.

Sally’s work and the work from our art group will be on sale to purchase at the event! A fantastic opportunity to purchase gifts for Christmas.

Virtual Reality Experience

Experience rough-sleeping on the streets of Northampton through three powerful stories of homelessness using virtual reality. We supported West Northamptonshire Council and One to One Development Trust in their production of a documentary film about homelessness, addiction and recovery. We are thrilled to share the immersive virtual reality project at our open event which exposes the harsh reality of homelessness. The project explores the complexity of homelessness and challenges participants to see beyond stereotypes.

Drama Performance ‘Stories of Hope’.

Attendees at our open event are welcome to watch our drama group perform their Christmas show ‘Stories of Hope’ at their Matinee performance starting at 12.30 in the Holy Sepulchre Community Rooms.
