People who have been in the armed forces are at heightened risk of becoming homeless, suffer from mental health issues, and addictions. The stress of combat and service, plus other factors, mean that some veterans struggle to get back into the normal run of life, and sometimes become homeless.

Hope is committed to work with veterans to get them help, advocating for housing and providing all the other support we can offer, closely working with other specialist service charities like SSFA and the British Legion to find people the help they need. We have signed the Armed Forces Covenant as a visible expression of our intent, and we have people with service experience on our board of trustees and amongst volunteers.

In 2019 we received two years funding from the Veterans’ Foundation to enable us to recruit a part time post focused on helping veterans with issues like homelessness and poverty.
