How to throw a great Hope BBQ

Here are some top tips on planning a Hope BBQ or party this summer, raising much needed money and collecting your fundraising.

Pick a date:

Host your event anytime in June through to September, or do you have a birthday or anniversary to celebrate?

Send out your invites:

Let people know at least three or four weeks in advance. Make some invitation cards or put a calendar invite in the office diary or even set up a Facebook event and invite your friends. Don’t forget to let everyone know you are fundraising for Hope!

How to raise your money

Donation boxes:

We can provide donation boxes and a QR code for your Just Giving fundraiser, so it’s really easy for guests to make a donation when they arrive.

Play some games:

Why not play some competitive games, guess the weight of the cake, hold a quiz with a participation fee, or play some garden games.

Put a price on your burgers:

Whatever you decide to cook, give them a price tag! Guests can make a donation every time they fill their plate.

Hold a cake ‘bake off’:

Ask guests to bring a cake, donate to enter and take a vote on the best cake. That’s dessert sorted!

Collect your fundraising:

The easiest way to collect your fundraising is to set up a Just Giving page linked to our BBQ fundraiser. All donations are sent directly to us and any cash you make on the day can be totted up and added at the end. We can even send you a QR code that links directly to your campaign!
