Temporary Night Shelter Opens

Over Night Support

Over the past few months Hope have seen an increasing number of people experiencing homelessness across Northamptonshire. This coupled with what is predicted to be a cold and unsettled winter and colder than normal spring, Hope are opening a winter night shelter to get the most vulnerable in our community off the streets.

This is a 7 day a week service located at Queen’s Grove Methodist Church, Northampton, to give emergency accommodation to those who find themselves homeless, with nowhere safe to sleep.

As with all Hope services this is part of a wider support process which gives individuals an opportunity to cope with the traumas that have resulted in them becoming homeless and begin to rebuild a life for themselves.

Our wider day service will continue (& subject to funding will extend its hours) supporting individuals with basics such as showers, clothing and food. with a continuation of the enhanced support offered through our in-house drug and alcohol recovery team, mental health and through our partnerships deliver wider support for advice in areas such as housing, and debt management.

This service will save lives. We are committed to supporting the homeless community and we believe that this is crucial in the current climate to keep people safe and give people the greatest chance to rebuild their lives.

As with all we do, we rely heavily on public donations and the support of local businesses to keep our services going. We have launched an appeal as part of our birthday celebrations which will make sure we are able to keep this critical service running through the winter.

Support us:

We need your help to maintain the service. It will take collaboration from businesses and individuals alike to help us keep people safe this winter. We heavily rely on public and business funding to keep our service running. A small donation of just £30 will help us support 1 person throughout the night. If you can help by volunteering, this could help us wash the bedding and clothes for everyone using the service. Taking part in one of our events is also a great way to raise money to support the work we do.
