West Northants Council Supporting Hope
West Northants Council have launched an initiative to support Hope in our efforts to increase the supply of food to the homeless community and those facing hardship in the district. Households will now be able to drop in-date and non-perishable food at new, accessible donation points found at local libraries across West Northamptonshire. The goods will go directly to support those facing homelessness and hardship in the community.
Supporting West Northamptonshire’s Sustainability Goals.
West Northamptonshire Council are working with households to reduce waste and ensure surplus unopened tins or packets of food, don’t reach land-fill. This initiative to reduce waste, will help us meet the increased demands we are facing on our services.
We find it hard to find central, accessible spaces open to the public for people to donate food and goods. The donation points at local libraries is a fantastic solution. The donation stations are for in-date, unopened and unperishable food, you can also donate household and hygiene products such as shower gel and shampoo! Please don’t use the bins for fresh, opened food items or food past their sell by date.
The donated items will be collected and distributed to those struggling with hardship through our Community Larders and to Oasis House to support our homeless community.
Libraries can be found at; Brixworth, Daventry, Deanshanger, Duston, Hunsbury, Northampton Central, Towcester, and Weston Favell. You can find a full list of our local libraries HERE.
If you are struggling to make ends meet and want more information on how to access low-cost food, here is a list of the locations of our Community Larders. Always check the website page HERE for up-to-date information about Larder locations and opening times.

We are always looking for volunteer drivers to help us with our collections and deliveries. If you are interested in support us through volunteering, please contact ranj@northamptonhopecentre.org.uk
